Nocturnary (nocturnary.com) is operated by Evoq Sp. z o.o., Słowackiego 55/1, 60-521 Poznań, Poland. In this policy, "we" and "Nocturnary" mean the operator of this website. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@nocturnary.com.

The dream you type, and any optional context about your life you add, so we can generate your reading. You choose what to write — please don't include information you'd rather not share.

Your email address, if you choose to have a reading emailed to you, tick the box for occasional dream letters, or buy a reading or report (Stripe passes us the email you pay with so we can send your copy). We don't require an account to use Nocturnary.

Payment information, when you buy a deep reading. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.

Basic usage and technical data: anonymised page views and events (to understand what's useful), and your IP address transiently, to rate-limit and protect the service from abuse.

To generate your dream reading, process payments for the deep reading, keep the service running and secure, and understand in aggregate how the site is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your dream text to advertise to you.

Free readings are not stored. The free reading is generated on the fly from our dictionary and shown to you. If a paid reading is available, the first two sentences of your personal reading are written by our AI provider (Anthropic) from your dream text so you can see what the full reading would be; that text is not stored by us.

Paid readings and pattern reports are stored. After you pay, we save your dream text, any context you added, the reading, its pencil sketch and your email in our database (Supabase) under a private, unguessable link, and email you a copy. Your dream text is sent to Anthropic to write the reading and a short scene description, and that description is sent to Replicate to draw the sketch. The email includes a link to delete the reading and sketch permanently.

Shared dreams. If you share a dream on a symbol page, our AI moderation removes names and identifying details and decides whether it can be published. Published dreams appear anonymously on that page. If a dream can't be published, we keep only a short note of why, not the text.

Your journal stays on your device (in your browser's storage) unless you buy a pattern report, in which case the saved dreams you choose to include are sent to write it and stored as described above.

We rely on a small set of trusted processors who handle data on our behalf: Stripe (payment processing), Anthropic (writing AI readings, sketch descriptions and moderating shared dreams), Replicate (drawing the pencil sketch), Supabase (storing paid readings and shared dreams), Vercel (website hosting and privacy-friendly analytics), and Resend (email delivery). Each processes data only to provide their service to us.

These providers may process data outside your country (including in the United States) under standard data-protection safeguards.

We keep tracking minimal. Our analytics are privacy-friendly and aggregate — we measure page views and anonymous events, not individual identities. We store a theme preference in your browser so the site remembers light or dark mode.

Paid readings, sketches and pattern reports are kept until you delete them with the link in your email or ask us to remove them. Published shared dreams stay on the site until you ask us to remove them. If you give us your email for dream letters, we keep it until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Payment records are retained by Stripe and by us only as needed to meet legal and accounting obligations.

Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under the GDPR), you have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at hello@nocturnary.com and we'll respond. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Nocturnary is not directed to children, and is intended for adults. Please don't use it if you are under 16.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date below. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
