Stars are read as hope, destiny, and guidance from afar — in the East the fortunes written in the sky (星宿), in the West the Self's distant guiding lights, in Ibn Sirin's tradition the notable and the learned.

周公解梦 reads the stars (星宿) as the pattern of one's fortunes — a bright, clear field of stars is read as hopes well-placed and a favorable season; a falling star, as a change or a wish loosed into motion. To reach for a star is read as ambition the tradition looks kindly on, provided the reach is honest.
