Dreaming about a book
A reading for meaning, not prophecy
A book is read as knowledge and the record of a life — in the East learning and destiny written (书), in the West the accumulated wisdom of the Self, in Ibn Sirin's tradition one's record, knowledge, or a matter set down.

Three readings
In Chinese tradition · 周公解梦 · 书
周公解梦 reads the book as 书 — learning, cultivation, and at times destiny written down; to read one marks knowledge or guidance arriving, a closed or lost book a wisdom not yet opened. It is the page your fortune is written on.
In Western psychology · Jungian
Jung would read the book as the accumulated knowledge of the psyche — the Self's wisdom, or a chapter of your life story. The book you read, or cannot read, marks the understanding available to you and the parts of your story still unopened.
In Islam · Ibn Sirin
Ibn Sirin read the book as one's record, knowledge, and a matter set down — to receive a book in the right hand good news and good standing, an unreadable one a knowledge or a fate not yet clear. Framed as meaning: what is being written, or waiting to be read?
